About Flourish Acupuncture

Why chose Flourish?

The heart of our practice is you and our aim is your wellness, in whatever personal form that takes. We’re listeners first, and we spend the time to get to know you and where you want to get to in terms of your health. We’re often told this is a refreshing change. Your whole experience is geared towards ensuring you achieve the best from your treatment and, from the moment you book your first treatment to your aftercare, you can rest assured you’re in safe hands.

We feel it’s important you’re treated by people who are not only passionate about what they do but also practice what they preach. We’re regular recipients of acupuncture ourselves and understand how it feels to be a patient, and we all have our own stories to tell about how it’s helped us personally. We’re also practitioners of Tai Chi, Qi Gong, yoga, and have an interest in healthy eating and movement.

It goes without saying we’re committed to safe practice, cleanliness, and rigor, and are members of the British Acupuncture Council (BAaC), the professional governing body of acupuncture in the UK. We have a commitment to ongoing professional development over and above that required by the BAaC.

About Dom Walsh

Working with people has always been the most fulfilling part of my work, and acupuncture and Chinese Medicine has allowed me to have a guiding influence on arguably the most important aspect of peoples’ lives – their health. To be able to see and be part of the positive changes this medicine can enable is simply amazing.

My interest in Chinese Medicine was alive even before I first picked up the acupuncture prospectus for the International College of Oriental Medicine back in 1991. On route to becoming an acupuncturist, I completed a Pharmacology degree with Physiology & Biochemistry, providing a sound understanding of the human body from a Western perspective. A successful career in technology followed, working directly with clients, creatives and deeply technical wizards. I usually found myself as a facilitator with the aim of helping teams and processes work to optimal performance. I graduated from the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM) with a Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture with a First-Class degree classification and am a member of the British Acupuncture Council. I’ve completed further training in Tuina, a form of Chinese Massage that works brilliantly in combination with acupuncture – in fact traditionally it formed part of an acupuncturists training along with herbal medicine. I’ve also enjoyed numerous martial arts, finally resting on Tai Chi where I’ve been involved teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong at the Mei Quan Academy in London. My claim to fame in this area is teaching Nigel Planner the first part of the Tai Chi Short Form!

The ongoing thread throughout my story has always been people, and since finding my way back to Chinese Medicine it has given me the gift to make a difference to peoples’ lives in a much more profound way than I have ever been able to before.
